Dundee Fairtrade Campaign Day

On the 29th of November, a Fairtrade Campaign Day will be held in Dundee University. It is hoped that this event - a joint collaboration between The Scottish Fair Trade Forum, The Fairtrade Foundation and Dundee Fairtrade Group - will give Fairtrade campaigners and supporters form all over Scotland the opportunity to participate in in-depth discussions around Fairtrade, get the latest Fairtrade news firsthand and pick up new skills to promote Fairtrade in their local communities.

This is the first time the Fairtrade Foundation has supported such an event north of the border and the format of the day will emulate the many successful national campaign days the Fairtrade Foundation has helped run in the past but, this time, with a Scottish twist. Scottish Fair Trade Forum Staff will be there to explain Fairtrade in the Scottish context and to talk about the progress of the Scottish Fair Trade Nation campaign.

The Dundee Campaign Day is an opportunity to pick up valuable campaigning tips and share experiences and ideas with fellow campaigners, speakers, Scottish Fair Trade Forum and Fairtrade Foundation staff. The day will largely consist of a choice of workshops such as 'Being Creative with Fairtrade' which offers advice on getting young people involved in fairtrade, 'Myth Busting' which tackles issues often brought up by critics such as food miles, climate change, and fairtrade versus free trade and 'Scottish Fair Trade Nation Campaign' which offers participants the advice on how to further and chance to shape Scotland's Campaign.
